On this very day in 2013, Budivelnyk became the first — and unfortunately the last — Ukrainian club to debut in Europe’s most prestigious basketball tournament.
Ainars Bagatskis’ team was leading the star-studded Fenerbahçe after three quarters, but in the final ten minutes our lack of experience and the individual class of Turkish players — Kleiza, Bjelica, McCalebb, Bogdanović, and others — made the difference: 84–102 (15:18, 28:23, 34:30, 7:31).
